Platform
came into being as the result of the sustained efforts of a number of
people in Tees Valley, practising musicians and audience members alike.
The group was conscious of the many
gifted individual musicians and performance groups in the area in need of
support, and wished to create a supportive infrastructure for all aspects
of classical music making which would lead to the growth of the sector
both in quality and in quantity.
What is platform?
Platform aims to sustain long-term development of classical music in the Tees Valley by:
· Raising the quality of instrumental and vocal achievement · Meeting the needs of aspiring and gifted musicians · Offering training opportunities · Encouraging and supporting community music-making · Attracting more people to classical music events
